The last time PSV left Tilburg scoreless was already a football career ago. Twelve years ago, in March 2004, Willem II won 3-1 through two goals by Bart Van den Eede and one by Tom Caluwé. For PSV at the time, Johan Vonlanthen scored.
Same last year
Since then, PSV won eighteen times away and at home from Willem II. That was an Eredivisie record. That streak came to an end last year when PSV failed to get past 2-2 in Tilburg. For PSV, Pereiro and Luuk de Jong scored, for Willem II Erik Falkenburg scored twice.
Watch out for Falkenburg
Falkenburg achieved a record with those two goals. He is the only active player in the Eredivisie to score four goals against PSV for three different clubs. He previously did so on behalf of AZ and Go Ahead Eagles. PSV must therefore watch out for the striker.
Many Eindhoven roots
There are quite a few players at Willem II who could previously be admired at De Herdgang and at Philips Stadium. Nigel Bertrams, Freek Heerkens and Dries Wuytens, for example, all went through PSV's youth academy. However, they never debuted in the first team. Willem II midfielder Funso Ojo did. He played eleven matches in PSV 1. Salient detail: his debut in the Eredivisie was in a game with Willem II.
