Which media have players and trainers spoken to? What happens behind the scenes and how do former PSV players fare? PSV is a topic of conversation. Always and everywhere. On Monday and Thursday you can read all the news you don't want to miss.
'De Jong stands up when PSV needs him '
It is mainly the captains who keep PSV and Ajax on track, writes De Telegraaf. "Luuk de Jong really stood up and took the team by the hand," Cocu said afterwards and was supported in this by goal scorer Marco van Ginkel. "Led by Luuk, we threw a lot of fight into it. He took the team in tow." For De Jong himself, there is still full conviction that PSV will become champions. "If we win our remaining four games then there is a good chance we will be champions. I am convinced of that."

'The passion in Moreno'
Héctor Moreno received a yellow card last Saturday, only his third of the season. And not because of a foul, but because of talking. Moreno is currently second on the ranking of players with the fewest fouls behind their names. "It has a lot to do with timing. I'm 1.82 meters. One of the smallest defenders in the Netherlands. Most strikers are taller, so I have to think ahead and avoid contact," the Mexican said about it in the Eindhovens Dagblad. About his yellow card he adds the following. "A stupid card, but that happens to me sometimes. That's just the passion that's in me." Read the full interview via Blendle.
'We disapprove '
Santiago Arias played his 100th game against Willem II, a game the Colombian will not soon forget. The defender received his second yellow card of the evening in the 57th minute and tapped a window in anger. "I can be clear about it. We disapprove of this," Phillip Cocu said immediately after the match. Santiago Arias already apologized on Saturday night. "I was angry, excited and didn't think. My reaction was wrong and I accept that I have to pay for this," said Arias, who has a meeting with Cocu today.
'Foppe's wife wants PSV '
A remarkable piece in the Algemeen Dagblad this morning. "To please her we will do everything possible to make it as difficult as possible for Ajax," says Foppe de Haan, coach of sc Heerenveen. By "her" he means his wife Geke, who, according to the coach, has a great preference for PSV as national champions. "She has much more with PSV than with Ajax," De Haan said. In the 32nd round of play, Ajax will be guests at Abe Lenstra Stadium.
Most valuable player
Luuk de Jong played his 150th premier league game on Saturday. Against Willem II he was good for a goal and an assist. In total he was involved in 121 hits (81 goals and 40 assists), according to the AD. Together with Hakim Ziyech he leads the ranking 'most valuable player' with 20 goals and 7 assists. Ziyech scored 17 times and had 10 assists.
'High moyenne '
Marco van Ginkel scored only one official goal during two and a half years abroad, but has put up an impressive scoring average at PSV in just over two months. His opening goal against Willem II already marked his sixth goal in just nine premier league matches, according to De Telegraaf.
Debut Kuijpers; Folkertsma important
The Dutch women's team played a friendly game with Canada yesterday at the Jan Louwers Stadium. The Dutch lost 2-1, but PSV Women player Jeslynn Kuijpers made her debut. More than 150 kilometers away, in the town of Eibergen, the Orange O19 qualified for the European Championship in Slovakia. Only in the 93rd minute, PSV's Sisca Folkertsma secured the Netherlands' group win and ticket with her sixth goal in three matches. In addition to Folkertsma, Maureen Sanders and Michelle Hendriks also participated.
