Willy van der Kuijlen is celebrating his birthday! Exactly 70 years ago Mister PSV was born in Helmond. Especially for his 70th birthday Willy will receive a special edition of the PSV Magazine, a Limited Edition shirtbox containing a replica of the shirt in which he celebrated many successes and a Willy van der Kuijlen PSV scarf.
Surprised
The club icon was handed all the gifts in front of a full Philips Stadium at halftime of the game between PSV and FC Rostov. "They got me well," laughed Mister PSV earlier today when he was congratulated by general manager Toon Gerbrands and technical manager Marcel Brands in Gebrands' study. "It's very nice to see the club doing something like that for me. Very nice," said a surprised Willy.

Especially because of his 70th birthday, the upcoming edition of the Magazine is largely dedicated to Mister PSV. Willy adorns the cover of the Magazine and various recurring sections such as 'The Young Years of...', 'Woman and Footballer' and 'What once was the old glory', have been given a Willy touch. Of course, Willy himself also features extensively in the magazine, about which we will tell much more next week.
Limited Edition Retro Box
A Limited Edition Retro Box has also been developed for the special occasion. The box, of which Willy himself received the first one, contains a long-sleeved shirt which is a copy of the home shirt as worn by Mister PSV in the 1970s. Although the club icon had no fixed number, Willy often played with number 11 on the back. The shirt is packaged in a limited luxury gift box containing a numbered autograph certificate with Willy van der Kuijlen's original signature. The box costs €70 and will soon be available in a limited edition of 100 at the PSV FANstore. A wonderful keepsake of perhaps the greatest PSV player of all time.

Finally, the PSV FANstore also had a special fan scarf made for Willy. The scarf features the text 'Mister PSV' on one side and 'Willy van der Kuijlen' on the other. It will be on sale from Thursday in the FANstore and online for €14.99.
