PSV resumes the Eredivisie season on Saturday with a match against Excelsior Rotterdam. Before the game, Head Coach Peter Bosz has fine words to say about the club, the training camp in Spain and his players, but at the same time he keeps both feet on the ground.
Bosz is seeing his injury squad flowing ever emptier ahead of the game with the Rotterdammers. Attackers Noa Lang and Hirving Lozano, both injured, are on the way back, he says. "Hirving is training again, Noa already did so at the training camp. In that respect, he is a bit further along, but we still have one more training session to go." The Apeldoorn native does not want to take too many risks with his flank players. "We are careful with them: it's a matter of bringing them back responsibly, so they don't regress."
Praise
At the training camp in Estepona, Spain, the Head Coach indicated it may well be that he will end his coaching career at PSV. "That was not a slip of the tongue. I really enjoy it here, work well with the boys and the staff have a lot of fun." He looks back on a valuable week under the Spanish sun. "It has been a good week, we were able to tick off all the things we wanted to do. Furthermore, we didn't suffer any injuries, the fields were top-notch and the hotel was also fine. I'm definitely positive."
Acting at a high level
PSV is going through a flawless Eredivisie season so far. With 16 wins from as many matches, the club is proudly leading the league. Peter Bosz has no intention of sitting back. "We are in good shape, but that does not give any guarantees," he said. He hopes to pick up the high level his team maintained before the winter break against Excelsior Rotterdam. "In our last game against AZ we played very well, I hope to see that same intensity back on Saturday. I saw again at the training camp how much quality the team has. We have to attack the second half of the season in the same way."
