Peter Bosz had signed in advance for a 4-1 victory over SK Sturm Graz, he indicated at the press conference. Still, the Head Coach was not completely satisfied with the play of his team, which should have decided the match earlier.
"We entertained the crowd and created a number of chances, but I didn't think we played well in the first half. We had a battle plan and we didn't execute it well," said Bosz, who indicated he was satisfied with the second half. "We fulfilled the agreements better and therefore created a lot more. Only we should have rewarded ourselves more often."
Bosz says that a critical eye is needed to be successful in the long run. "If you want to reach the group stage and also perform continuously at national level, you must not be satisfied too quickly. I know my squad by now and I know they can still improve."
Standing ovation
For the 18-year-old Isaac Babadi, it was a night he will long remember. The Academy talent scored on his European debut and was also important in the second goal. "I never experienced that as a player," said Bosz referring to the standing ovation Isaac received at his substitution. "He just joined the A squad and then two games in quick succession are spicy. That's why I changed him, but he and De Jong really stood out."
