After the match against Fortuna Sittard, Peter Bosz spoke of a mediocre match. Just under a week later, the coach is more positive. His squad is almost at full strength and training was back to last season's season.
How are things after the game against Fortuna Sittard?
"Maybe I was a little too critical after the game against Fortuna Sittard. But it's true that PSV is a top club, so you have to win. Every trainer always sees things that don't go well, even in good games. But you don't always have to point that out. We finally trained like we did last season. By that I don't mean effort, because that was always good, but quality. This is the first time since the start of the new season that I have seen that. It is not a guarantee for tomorrow, but it is the first time."
Is it harder to choose, now that you have an almost fit selection again?
"There are always reasons to choose someone else. I then try to explain that to them as best I can. That doesn't mean they always have to agree with me. It does make it harder to make those decisions, because I have more players available to me again. Richy will return to full training today, Adamo didn't train last week but is also fully fit again, so it's going in the right direction. Only Fredrik Oppegård and Hirving Lozano are still training separately, for the rest I have everyone there. Also Noa Lang."
How tempting is it to already be thinking about Sporting CP?
"I do that myself, because I have to take into account the taxability of my players. But I only talk to them about Saturday's match, against Willem II. That match is the most important for now."
What do you think about when you switch a player?
"I think about everything when I switch someone. Also about the psychological part. You're referring to Joey now, he knows how I feel about him. He's a great player, but also a great person. I substituted Joey not because he was the worst on the field, but because I felt that something different was required at his position than what he brought. That's why Ismael Saibari came on for him."
