The last match of the year promises to be a cracker: PSV will take on Feyenoord at home. Although it is not a direct game for the lead, this clash has great significance. With a win, PSV can increase their lead over the Rotterdammers to ten points. Yet head coach Peter Bosz is not concerned with that: "We are only halfway through the season; it is still very long."

Is it nice to end the year with such a competition?
"It's an interesting match in which you can measure yourself against the top of the Netherlands. Feyenoord is one of them, but so are we, so we are going to see who is better. We lost the last league game, so they have now seen how to beat us. Other teams, including Feyenoord, are now going to think they can do the same."

What is the biggest difference compared to the Johan Cruijff Schaal?

"At Feyenoord, the coach knows his players better now, but some things have changed with us as well. The difference is too big to look back at that match, so we didn't."

How far back do you look?

"That's longer than three games, though. They have played multiple ways, so then three games is too short-sighted. We take multiple possibilities into account, simply because we don't know how they're going to do."

Are you still looking at the standings with this match ahead?
"Of course I look at the standings. There are several options, they can approach to four points, the gap can stay seven points or we run out to a 10-point lead. So it's definitely an important match. I personally don't like to look at the standings in between games, because the season is still very long, we're only at the halfway point. So it's of little use to be at the top now."

What about the various injuries?

"Couhaib Driouech is doing well. We had to see if he needed surgery or not. That ended up not being the case, and after that it went quickly. First he no longer had crutches and now he trains individually. Johan Bakayoko has always trained with us, but he is still suffering from that tap against Shakhtar Donetsk. Sergiño Dest has been rehabilitating externally, but now he is here again. He is partially training with the group and eventually he should return to full participation."
