Earlier this season, Head Coach Peter Bosz spoke of a "first league topper," referring to the home game against Go Ahead Eagles. That same team will be the opponent of frontrunner PSV next weekend. This time De Adelaarshorst forms the backdrop of the encounter and Peter Bosz stressed that his team will again need 'the right concentration' to win.
Go Ahead Eagles is sixth in the Eredivisie rankings. According to the Head Coach, that is a reward for their good play this season. "That is only possible if you have good players as well as a good coach. That is the case at the moment, so we can get our chests wet again." Bosz also responded to the loss of Kees Rijvers. "I read the stories of the men who worked with him. Under his leadership, PSV became a top club. The tribute cannot be big enough."
Focus
Bosz is appealing to the focus of his selection and players. "Every match can be a banana skin for us. If we cannot muster the right concentration, you can lose against a good team like Go Ahead Eagles." With that said, the approaching return against Borussia Dortmund plays no role at all. "I don't hear anyone in the group talking about Borussia Dortmund, only about Friday. Every week we focus on the next match. That, in my eyes, is the way to achieve success."
Worthy opponent
Under René Hake's leadership, the team from Deventer is rising to great heights. "Go Ahead Eagles have a clear way of playing and with their attacking wingers they are always dangerous. They play with really high intensity. They manage to bring that every week and combined with their footballing qualities they are a very difficult opponent for us."
Confidence
Finally, Bosz stressed that the draw against Feyenoord did not damage self-confidence, despite the fact that he still believes PSV should have won. "We are now eight months in and in that period we have proved to be the best in the Netherlands. We are 10 points ahead of number two, but we have to make sure we show the same in the next 10 games. The hardest thing in football is to remain constant, so far we have managed that well. We must not slacken off."
