PSV finished its first away game of the new Eredivisie season victorious. Head coach Peter Bosz spoke of a difficult first half in Almelo, but then saw his team turn the tide.

"We can and must do much better," the Head Coach began. "I warned the team beforehand about the start of this match and the fierce duels they want to play. As PSV, you cannot lose points against Heracles Almelo. If you are then 1-0 behind, you do worry. I considered changing three men at half-time, but in the end I didn't do it. We only had one goal together: we have to turn it around."

However, the coach already saw his team change positively at the end of the first half, and saw a very different PSV in the second half. "We were able to get through more easily and they were finding it harder and harder to run. Then you know Heracles Almelo are not going to keep that up for 90 minutes. That early goal after halftime provided the turnaround and after that things improved. In the end, I'm happy with the result." Peter Bosz was very appreciative of the substitutes. "I thought Matteo Dams filled in very strongly today. He had to play as a central defender at left back, which is really not easy, but he did very well."

First goal
Couhaib Driouech managed to cash in on his substitution with a goal. "It's always nice when you come in and can be important with the redeeming 3-1," said the proud striker who at the same time did recognize that it was a weak first half from PSV. "You just have to win convincingly here. We had a lot of chances, but were not accurate on the ball and the pace was far too low. Because of that early goal we didn't get into the match well and that is entirely our own fault."

The left winger is still very happy with his move to PSV and hopes to grow with the level. "The speed of action, the training, the quality running around here; it's top level. Now you have to be creative in very small space to be dangerous. I managed that today."
