Peter Bosz will have the same selection on Sunday as last week. The Head Coach expects to be the superior side against Heracles Almelo. Meanwhile, he is looking forward to Otten Innovation Cup, where several new game rules will be tested.
"I was very satisfied with last week's game, because it was the game of a champion. I was disappointed with the goal against, though. RKC Waalwijk claimed a goal in the early stages, but not after that. That you still score it is unnecessary," reflects the coach about the first league game. "The upcoming game will be a little surprise, because they have eight new players compared to last year. You do know players better when they play longer in the league. Of course, I do expect us to be the superior side."
Whether the game is as good this weekend remains to be seen, but Peter Bosz at least has the same players. "We have the same selection as in the game against RKC Waalwijk. No guys have returned from injury yet, but no one has been injured either."
Then there are questions about Jordan Teze and last week's situation, but the coach is clear: "He's young, makes a mistake, apologizes and then it's done." Meanwhile, interest in several PSV players continues. "I talk to those guys about the interest from outside. We have those conversations, we really don't ignore it. Only it's not up to me."
Innovative and new rules of the game
This weekend during the Otten Innovation Cup, different rules will be tested. A good thing thinks Peter Bosz: "Hockey is a breath of fresh air in that respect. Football has stood still on many aspects. I think we should take a look at that. A good example is that football players often take the ball with them after a foul and then throw it back later. In many other sports they really don't dare to do that. Surely that is much nicer and better for the game."
The Head Coach also gets questions about the vice captaincy in relation to new game rules. "We find it more convenient if field players have that role. Otherwise you have to appoint someone in advance again, which is complicated. Boscagli is one of them, Veerman is one of them, and Schouten is one of them." Since this season, only the captain is allowed to complain to the umpire.
