All of PSV's seven field goals this Eredivisie season have been scored by players aged 21 or younger. Cody Gakpo (21), Donyell Malen (21) and Noni Madueke (18) scored two goals. Maxi Romero scored against FC Emmen as a 21-year-old. Only Philipp Max (26) is older than 21, but his goal came from the penalty spot.
World Cup finalists in the Eredivisie
Mario Götze may become the fourth footballer to play in the Eredivisie after winning a World Cup. Helmut Rahn won the 1954 World Cup with West Germany and then joined SC Enschede. Ronaldo triumphed at the World Cup in 1994 before joining PSV. Ronaldo's teammate Márcio Santos moved with him, only he went to Ajax at the time.
Van Ginkel as engine
Marco van Ginkel has played three periods at PSV since 2015-2016. Since his first entry in 2015, he played 56 Eredivisie matches for the club. In those, PSV picked up an average of 2.52 points per game. Without Van Ginkel, PSV averaged 2.22 points per game since his first arrival.
Reunion Thomas
Between 2013 and 2018, Ryan Thomas played 123 Eredivisie matches for PEC Zwolle. In those, he was eight times goalscorer and 21 times the New Zealander was a declarer.
German influence
Mario Götze and Adrian Fein could become the ninth and tenth Germans to serve PSV. Of their eight predecessors, four played at the club in the 2019-2020 season. Daniel Schwaab is the German with the most Eredivisie matches for PSV to his name: 103.
