PSV Academy's upper echelons, Young PSV, PSV O18 and PSV O17, just like the A-selection, started their preparation for the 2022-2023 season this week. The coaching staff of these three teams includes several new faces on the pitch. Some newcomers will also take their place in the other teams.
Seasoned assistant for Ramzi
So Adil Ramzi, debutant head coach in professional football, will be supported at Young PSV by the seasoned coach Wil Boessen. The former professional football player from Limburg worked as head coach at various clubs and thus brings in a lot of experience. Wilfred Bouma and goalkeeper coach Kevin Begois complement the technical staff. They come over from PSV O18 and PSV O17/O16 respectively.
Seppe Torfs from now on takes charge of the physical training at Young PSV. He comes over from the Belgian OH Leuven, where he was performance coach with the A-selection. Torfs will also handle the physical training for O17 and O16 together with Tom Patricola. Patricola, from Ajax, will also be in charge of PSV O18, where Theo Lucius has been appointed head coach.
Reinforcements from Dordrecht and Utrecht
Head of Academy Ernest Faber has appointed Ben Kinds as trainer/coach of PSV O17. He comes over from FC Dordrecht, where for the past five seasons he held various technical positions with both the youth academy and the A-selection. Ginola Alflen Faber (coming from the A-selection of PSV) and Dirk-Jan Udo (transferring from FC Utrecht) will provide the video analyses for this team, as well as for O16, O15, O14 and O13.
Former (youth) players back as youth coach
Jasper Waalkens returns to PSV as youth coach. The former youth international played for years in the Eindhoven academy, became a professional at Willem II, N.E.C. and FC Eindhoven and will now be in charge of PSV O15. Former goalkeeper Robert-Jan Zoetmulder, who was briefly part of PSV's A-selection in the early nineties, will train the goalkeepers of O17 and O16.
