Xavi Simons is once again Player of the Month. The 19-year-old midfielder already took the prestigious title once last August. Last January, he was also "talent of the month" in the Eredivisie.
Xavi started in the starting lineup against RKC Waalwijk, SC Cambuur and Vitesse in March. In those three league games, he scored two goals and one assist. The midfielder was also a two-time base player in the past international period of Orange.
Fourth time
"It's nice that I became Player of the Month for the second time," Xavi says as he is handed the trophy. "It is indicative of the development I am going through at PSV." The award is given based on statistics and the opinion of football fans.
It is the fourth time PSV has had the Player of the Month in its ranks this season. So back in August, it was Xavi. The following two months, the now departed Cody Gakpo won the honorary title. Last month Johan Bakayoko was talent of the month.
