PSV is through in the Europa League. Head coach Ruud van Nistelrooij's team played an impressive match against Premier League leaders Arsenal. It won 2-0 thanks to goals from Joey Veerman and Luuk de Jong. Competitor FK Bodø/Glimt lost to FC Zurich (2-1), so the last match in Norway does not affect progress in the Europa League. PSV is sure of second place.
Decision in a week
The decision next week will be whether PSV will have to play another intermediate round, or join the last sixteen of the competition immediately. For that, Arsenal must commit a slip against FC Zurich and PSV must win against Bodø/Glimt.
