A special initiative at PSV in the dark days: before the start of the match against FC Twente on Friday, December 6, the club and supporters honor the supporters who are no longer among us. With the commemoration of our invisible stars, a long-cherished wish of the supporters comes true. It ushers in a new tradition in which every December a match will be dedicated to PSV players who have passed away from us over time.
Supporters can submit names of loved ones they would like to honor at Philips Stadium. The (first) names of all these people will be displayed on the special attendance shirt worn by the players before the start of the match. A special page has been set up to nominate members of the PSV family who are no longer among us. This is possible from November 21 through November 27 via PSV.nl/forever
Shortly before the first whistle of PSV - FC Twente, an appropriate atmosphere is created to remember our invisible stars. Not with silence, but with honorable applause.
In supporter circles there has long been a need to pause within a PSV environment to remember friends or family members who have lost their lives. The commemoration on Dec. 6 is one of the initiatives that responds to that need.
