Luuk de Jong has been rewarded for his excellent numbers in the February month. The PSV captain has been elected Player of the Month in the Eredivisie. The prestigious award was given to him based on statistics as well as the votes of national football fans.
Luuk accounted for five goals and two assists in the second month of 2024 in the Eredivisie. PSV played to a 1-1 draw at Ajax in the previous four weeks, while FC Volendam (1-5), Heracles Almelo (2-0) and PEC Zwolle (1-7) were victorious. He was involved in at least one goal in all matches. In November, Joey Veerman received the award. Johan Bakayoko became Johan Cruijff Talent of the Month in October and November.

Luuk has been on a roll in the first two months of the year more often than not. He has now scored 48 times in January and February. With his hat-trick on visit to promoted PEC Zwolle, Luuk de Jong is considered the top scorer of the Eredivisie so far. The striker has 22 goals, but is closely followed by AZ attacker Vangelis Pavlidis with 21 goals.
