Johan Bakayoko is the talent of the month for October in the Eredivisie. The striker emerged as the best player under 21 based on statistics and from votes from football fans. In March last season, the prestigious award also went to Johan.

PSV remained unbeaten in October (three games). The Belgian outfielder came into action in every Eredivisie match, emphatically making his mark. Johan scored brilliantly on the visit to Sparta and also found the net against Fortuna Sittard. Against the Limburgers he served Guus Til with an assist, as did Hirving Lozano in the game against Ajax. He also scored against RC Lens in the UEFA Champions League - although of course this goal does not count.

Honorary title
The seven-time Belgium international is proud that the title once again belongs to him. "I am in a great phase of my career, in which PSV gives me the handles every day to become an even better player. This honorary title is an extra confirmation for me that my progress translates to the pitch. It gives me even more motivation to go full out every day."

Last season, PSV players often won honorary titles. Besides Johan, Xavi Simons was also crowned Johan Cruijff Talent of the Month once. He was also voted Player of the Month twice, as were Cody Gakpo (2x) and Luuk de Jong (1x). The outfielder, who was crowned talent of the third period in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie in 2022, is the first PSV player to win awards this season.
