PSV has been informed by the Eindhoven City Council that no away supporters are welcome on March 12. SC Cambuur will visit the Philips Stadium that afternoon for an Eredivisie match. General Manager Marcel Brands regrets that it had to come to this.
"We learned of the municipality's decision this afternoon and deeply regret the situation. Football involves away supporters. It is unfortunate that a small group ruins it for the rest. Hospitality is one of PSV's core values. We therefore hope that we can welcome away supporters again in the future. The way it should be," Brands said.
Advice National Police
Mayor Jeroen Dijsselbloem follows the advice of the National Police not to allow supporters of FC Groningen and SC Cambuur at away matches. "I don't want to receive supporters in Eindhoven, who misbehave in such a way that police officers can no longer do their job. As long as this situation in the northern Netherlands is not resolved, we will not receive supporters of these clubs in our city," the mayor announced in a press release.
