Captain Pablo Rosario was deeply disappointed with PSV's performance. Not only did they lose 3-0 at FC Utrecht, Rosario's team also finished with nine men after direct red cards for Jorrit Hendrix and Nick Viergever.

Referee Danny Makkelie initially gave two more yellow cards, but at the insistence of the VAR the referee still grabbed red. "After the 1-0 we were awake, we also played well but after the first red card it was over. I haven't seen the footage, but it always speaks for itself," Rosario responded immediately after the match. At FOX Sports "We lost our heads. We ran everywhere, while at that moment you have to play compact and do everything possible to prevent goals against."

Denzel Dumfries came on camera a little later and, in the meantime, had been given space to look back at the footage. "I think those guys know it themselves. VAR doesn't lie," the right-back said of the deliberate moments. "It's not guys doing this on purpose," he continued. "Or guys who want to injure an opponent. The moment Nick deploys the sliding, for example, he can't pull his leg back."

Although the setback prevails now, Dumfries does not expect PSV to be upset. "We straighten our backs, this was an offday and we will recover," he concluded.
