The PSV players were proud of their victory over PAOK afterwards. The team turned an early 0-2 deficit into a 3-2 win: 'It's nice how we were able to turn this around. That's a good thing.'
Dumfries calls victory deserved
Those were the words of captain Denzel Dumfries. He did, however, regret that his team was soon forced into considerable chasing. "The goals from PAOK we gave away unnecessarily. I felt from the start that we were better and that we had a grip on the game. We stayed calm and showed after halftime that we were better. We deserved to win this match," the captain said.
Gakpo excels
Standout on the PSV side was Cody Gakpo. With the tying goal and an assist, he jacked up his pretty impressive stats yet again. In ten games this season, he scored seven times and Gakpo gave two assists. "Great kick right?", Gakpo said laughing about his first goal, after which he was confronted with another extraordinary statistic. Indeed, of his last eight shots, seven resulted in a goal. "I just heard. Eight shots, seven goals. That's pretty good huh."
