Many eyes are secretly already focused on next Sunday's league topper Feyenoord - PSV. Those of Phillip Cocu and his players definitely are not. On Friday afternoon, the head coach told us that he and his squad are only looking at the upcoming home game with N.E.C. "Only if we finish that well, can we focus on Feyenoord."
Confidence grows
"We have to avoid being preoccupied with Feyenoord already. We simply cannot afford that. If we do not get a result against N.E.C., we will travel to Rotterdam in a completely different feeling," the head coach continued.
Cocu made his statements Friday in front of PSV TV's camera and spoke in the same terms on the weekly press call. On camera, he also addressed the new élan PSV has had since the league resumed. Elan that led to five wins in five games. "In the winter break we left something behind us. A feeling that had crept into the group due to the lesser results. Because of the good results there is more freshness, we are scoring more goals and therefore the confidence is growing among the players."
Locadia makes comeback on Monday
The coach concluded the press interview by confirming that Jürgen Locadia will make his comeback next Monday against NAC Breda. Psv U21 will then enter the Jan Louwers Stadion at 8 p.m. "He makes a good, fit impression. He looks eager. There is a good basis to make match minutes."
