Luuk de Jong has reached a special milestone. Besides continuing to score a lot and being important for the team, the home game with Rangers FC was his 250th game for PSV. The captain received a special gift before the game with NEC.
The striker was presented with a gift and a bunch of flowers from Mart van den Heuvel. Luuk began his first spell at the club in 2014. Glorious years followed, with the headstrong striker as PSV's undisputed attacking leader. Between 2014 and 2019, he scored 112 goals in 204 matches and won the Johan Cruijff Schaal twice in addition to three national titles. He earned a transfer to Spain's Sevilla FC, with whom he won the UEFA Europa League and even scored twice in the final. After one season at FC Barcelona, Luuk returned to PSV in July 2022.
Luc Nilis past
Since then, the striker managed to find the net 25 times in 47 matches. Five of them the captain scored in the last preliminaries of the UEFA Champions League. If he manages to score again on Saturday, in the game against NEC, it could earn him another fine milestone. Then he will overtake Luc Nilis on PSV's eternal top scorer list in the Eredivisie. They currently share the third spot with 110 goals, behind Willy van der Kuijlen (308) and Coen Dillen (119).
