Sandra Doreleijers has extended her contract as PSV Women's Football Manager until mid-2025. The 43-year-old from Brabant has worked at the club in this role since 2017. 'I am incredibly grateful for the appreciation and trust I receive from PSV,' the Women's Football Manager said.
Doreleijers is considered one of the most important persons behind the advance of PSV Women. Since taking office, the former international has ensured an important professionalization drive. In consultation with the PSV management board, she set out an innovative (technical) policy in recent years that led, among other things, to a position at the top of Dutch women's football. "This extension and Sandra's role is in line with the story of PSV Women and the ambitions we have," said Peter Fossen, Director at PSV and as such responsible for PSV Women. "Thanks in part to her network, several internationals have returned. We finished first and are entering the UEFA Women's Champions League for the first time with PSV. That must now be built on. I am very happy that in the coming years Sandra will continue to be part of that and even stronger, will be the driving force behind it."
CAO, promising team, professional plan
In addition to the professionalization of the women's team, Doreleijers also ensured that players were given their own CAO, PSV Women integrated into the professional plan of the club and thus got a permanent position within the PSV Academy and was one of the initiators of the promising team for players. "I would very much like to continue here and build on the line we started," Doreleijers responded. "For the women, I dare to set the ambition of joining the best sixteen clubs in Europe. That fits with the top sports culture we have established together. Besides continuing to make strides with the first team, I think further shaping the women's football department is important. The current integration of the pledges fits well with PSV and setting up the further talent development trajectory is also important.''
