Donyell Malen saw his team struggle against De Graafschap. The striker believes the Keuken Kampioen Divisie number three came out with a good game plan.
Exploiting chances
"We created some good chances, but you know that in such matches you have to exploit the chances you get," was Malen's analysis. Pascal Kamperman of FOX Sports was surprised that, unlike some other matches, the PSV player was on the pitch for the full ninety minutes. Malen, who indicates as a football fan he wants to play as much as possible, managed to put the situation into perspective. "The coach does well to take the fitness of the players into account in this special season," he said.
Different ball
Then a word about his world goal. It was no intuition or coincidence that the striker tried it from that distance. "I noticed before the game that these balls are lighter than those in the Eredivisie. I already said that to the guys. Fortunately, it worked out well," he laughed. Malen could say little about the next opponent in the KNVB Cup. "You have to be able to win from everyone if you want to win the cup," he said.
