Psv U21 won 2-1 against Helmond Sport on Friday night. At the Lavans Stadion, substitute Laursen was the matchwinner: the Dane scored twice. Coach Haar took his first official victory with Young PSV and Daneels made his debut in professional football.

Lots of ball possession, few chances
Psv U21 went to Helmond in search of their first win of the new Jupiler League season. Haar's team started strongly against the Helmonders: Verreth had a great chance to give the pledges the lead within two minutes. The outfielder saw goalkeeper Van Gassel save. A few minutes later Ritzmaier tried from long range. His shot went just wide. Young PSV was on top for most of the first half, but could not convert the ball possession into many (big) chances. The team did score through De Wijs, but his goal was disallowed due to offside. Just before halftime, Konings had a free header chance. The striker seemed a bit scared and headed wide. Half-time score: 0-0.

Double hit Laursen, debut Daneels
Both teams came out of the locker room brighter in the second half. The tempo was higher and the game was driven faster. Young PSV also had more ball possession in the second half, but fell behind after an hour of play. Van Osch initially saved Zeldenrust's header, but had no answer to the rebound: 1-0. The home team had a great chance to double the score in the 72nd minute. Again Van Osch made a fine save. A quarter of an hour before time, PSV did succeed: Laursen shot to equalize. In the closing stages Ritzmaier had a great opportunity to score. He walked alone towards Van Gassel but shot hard over. A few minutes later it was Laursen who scored again. The Dane cleverly turned away and shot in. Thanks to two goals by Laursen, Young PSV took the three points in Helmond.
