Women's team PSV/FC Eindhoven will play its very last game in the BeNe League on Friday night at 7:30 p.m., against leaders Standard Liege. The mixed league with Belgium will cease to exist after three seasons and PSV/FC Eindhoven will continue as the PSV Women as of July 1.
Wonderful challenge
Earlier this season, Standard Liege won by large numbers in Eindhoven: 1-5. This time the match is at Sclessin Stadion, where Luik can become league champions. Head coach Nebojsa Vuckovic is looking forward to the duel with the leaders. "It is a wonderful challenge to play a championship match against Standard Liege on the last match day with a lot of spectators. We are going to enjoy it as well as play for results."
Battle for fourth place
Vuckovic's team can secure the fourth spot with a win but, like Standard Liege, depends on the result at ADO Den Haag - FC Twente to do so. "It is unfortunate that we no longer have the fourth spot in our own hands but that is in the vicissitudes of this season," Vuckovic said. "It will be a leaden match against top team Standard Liege but we are at full strength and well prepared. The pressure is completely on our opponent."
Fit selection for Vuckovic
PSV/FC Eindhoven will travel to Liege with a fit matchday squad. Only the long term injured players Marlou Kelleners, Marlou Peeters, Jette van Vlerken, Sharon Schoonderbeek and Michelle Hendriks are not available, they will not play this season.
