PSV Women, currently the frontrunner in the Eredivisie Women, will play the topper against reigning national champions FC Twente on Sunday at 2:30 pm. The team is keen to take the three points back to Eindhoven.
Last season, FC Twente took the national title in the final minutes at PSV Campus De Herdgang. This season, both teams are the only ones still without losing points in the Eredivisie. Still, coach Sander Luiten approaches this topper like any other game: ''We are looking forward to measuring ourselves against a team like FC Twente. These are always great games between two teams that are little alike.''
Smits meets former teammates
For Joëlle Smits this game means a reunion with her old teammates. Where the striker became champion and top scorer with 25 goals last year, the counter now stands at three goals after two games. ''We trained well and are ready for the game against FC Twente. I am looking forward to playing against my old teammates,'' said the PSV Women's striker.
