Psv U21 failed to get a result against FC Twente. The home club had every difficulty with coach Dennis Haar's team, but won thanks to a goal in the closing stages: 2-1.

Before the match, the main question was how the talents would hold up in the Grolsch Veste filled with over 25,000 spectators. In the first half, the answer was simply good. Coach Haar's team was under pressure at times and gave away a few chances, but PSV did not really get into trouble. Moreover, it felt strengthened by an excellent start, as already in the 6th minute Rigo crowned his return to the field with a goal. The Belgian headed beautifully over Twente goalkeeper Drommel from the edge of the box: 0-1.

However, that changed when one of the title favorites in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie was awarded a penalty kick after a foul by Kun. A chance for striker Boere, who made it 1-1. Van Osch kept PSV on their toes with several saves. At the other end, Lundqvist had the biggest chance of all, but the Swede hit the post in front of an open goal. PSV succumbed in the closing stages. Cantalapiedra made it 2-1 in the 87th minute. In the final minute, Rigo was unlucky when his free kick hit the post.
