Every week Gracenote finds out all about the matches PSV plays. On Sunday, PSV will visit Willem II. In Tilburg, PSV has struggled in recent years. With the battle for second place still in full swing, it will have to break that run.

Mutual result
It is the 90th time PSV has met Willem II in the Eredivisie. Of the past 89 times, PSV won 65 (65-12-12). Only FC Utrecht lost more often to PSV in the Eredivisie. Of the previous five away duels in Tilburg, PSV won one. On March 10, 2018, PSV lost 5-0 at the Koning Willem II Stadium. It was PSV's biggest defeat in the Eredivisie in more than 53 years. Before that run of five games, PSV won nine consecutive away matches from Willem II. Earlier this season they won 3-0 at the Philips stadium. Philipp Max, Mario Götze and Donyell Malen were goalscorers then.

Battle at the top
With three rounds of play to go, PSV is still in second place. In fact, it has been there since round 19 (January 26-28). It is currently one point ahead of AZ, but has a better goal difference. Of the last eleven Eredivisie matches, PSV lost only once (W6-G4-V1). That happened on March 28 in Alkmaar when AZ was too strong 2-0. In total, PSV lost four times season, three of them on foreign soil.

Anniversaries
Pablo Rosario may play his 100th Eredivisie match for PSV. Of his current teammates, no one yet reached that number. Nick Viergever has played the most matches in Dutch professional football. He can play his 300th match on Sunday.

Old acquaintance
A number of familiar names are also under contract at Willem II. Robbin Ruiter played one Eredivisie game for PSV last season. That happened on October 6, 2019 when they won 4-1 against VVV-Venlo. Head coach Željko Petrović spent two seasons in action for PSV. During that period he became national champion once (1996-1997) and took the Johan Cruijff Schaal twice (1996, 1997).
