After beating FC Utrecht earlier in the week, Young PSV came to visit Jong AZ on Friday night. Where on Monday they took an early lead, Peter Uneken's men now needed a little more time. A win is important for both teams in the battle for the seventeenth spot.
Two minutes, two goals
In the first 30 minutes, no team managed to get a shot on goal. The biggest chance came from a sharp cross from Johan Bakayoko. Fodé Fofana was only just too short to run the ball in. After that it went hard. Young AZ managed to surprise Vincent Müller, who was far from his goal, with a long-distance shot. Luis Felipe saved on the line and degraded the effort to a corner. Just when everyone was getting ready for a half-time tie, Fodé Fofana, after another Bakayoko cross, managed to score from the tangle. It didn't stop there, as a minute later Mathias Kjølø exploited a penalty.
Control
In the second half, Young PSV had more control of the game and became dangerous on a regular basis. Still, Müller had to intervene several times. In the 73rd minute, the German goalkeeper only just managed to tap the ball over the crossbar, but fell badly in the process. After medical treatment he was able to continue the match. Just after PSV made two substitutions, Kristóffer Kristinsson shot from the volley, putting the final score on the scoreboard: 3-0.
