In a well-filled Jan Louwers Stadium, PSV won for the second time this season. Against city rival FC Eindhoven, Sam Lammers and Mauro Junior scored the goals on behalf of coach Dennis Haar's team, which now has seven points from four matches.

In an entertaining first half, general manager Toon Gerbrands, who was present at the city derby, saw Sam Lammers open the scoring after fifteen minutes of play. The striker, who joined the A-squad this summer, avoided his opponent Loof on the edge of the penalty area and curled the ball beautifully into the top corner. Just before, FC Eindhoven had gotten away well when the same Loof worked a ball via his chest onto the outside of the post of his own goal. Young PSV refused to press after the early lead and the home team took advantage. After more than twenty minutes Lieder left goalkeeper Eloy Room defenseless by changing the direction of an effort from distance: 1-1.

Malen debut, Mauro Junior match winner
Despite a handful of good opportunities on both sides, that was also the score at halftime. In the second half the initiative rested with FC Eindhoven, which almost took the lead after an hour through Van den Boomen. The home midfielder was given the go-ahead after an alleged foul from Armando Obispo, but his attempt went just wide of the goal. Psv U21 could do little in return, until the arrival of debutant Donyell Malen. The striker, who came over from Arsenal, created a threat with his speed and also posed a threat from distance. Yet it was not he, but fellow attacker Mauro Junior who gave Young PSV the three points by scoring with a dry hit in the closing stages to make it 1-2.
