Peter Uneken's team managed to grab its first home win of the season against Telstar. Young PSV had little trouble with the Velsenaren and won convincingly 3-0.
Quiet first half
It remained quiet at PSV Campus De Herdgang for the first half hour. Both teams were searching for a goal but on both sides of the pitch the net remained empty. Robin Schoonbrood provided the highlights for Young PSV with some clever passes. Kristófer Kristinsson was also looking hard for his first goal in the red and white. Telstar came close to scoring the opening goal from a free shot opportunity but a good reflex by Maxime Delanghe kept the Eindhoven goal clean. Just before half-time Ismael Saibari had a lot of space in the opponent's penalty area but his low cross just did not reach NIgel Thomas. Both teams went into the break without a goal.
Dominant
Just after halftime it was again Thomas who was close to scoring the opening goal. He got the ball very close to the goal but was unable to score from an awkward position. More than ten minutes after halftime Thomas managed to break the spell. He was served from close range and did not fail to score, 1-0. Less than three minutes later the score doubled. Kristinsson was played in by Saibari and scored his first goal for PSV. The team was in a dominant phase. From close range Shurandy Sambo came close to scoring the third goal but he failed to get a good shot. Schoonbrood also saw an effort blocked. Then the chance fell to substitute Djenairo Daniëls who was able to take advantage of a poor save by the Telstar goalkeeper. He took advantage of the situation and also scored his first for Young PSV. 3-0 was the final score.
