After already taking the full spoils in the away match earlier this season, Young PSV was also too strong for RKC Waalwijk in the home game.
Bergwijn strikes again
From the well-filled stands at De Herdgang, the crowd saw an energetic and fierce Young PSV in the first half. Still, Pascal Jansen's team was behind within ten minutes through a fine goal by striker Langedijk, who outsmarted goalkeeper Van Osch with a lob. Neither side had any real chances after that. That changed in the 24th minute: Boljević tapped in a corner from Paal nicely with his head, equalizing the score. After the Montenegrin's goal, PSV went in search of a second goal. Just before half time the deserved goal came: Leemans shot dangerously at goal from a free kick, keeper Vos let go allowing Bergwijn to tap in. In the last minute of the first half, a nice long-distance shot by Paal almost made it 3-1.
First goal Beto da Silva
The first part of the second half resembled in few respects that of the first 45 minutes. Both teams created few chances so the score remained the same for a long time. Only in the 68th minute came the first danger. In the same minute Paal had to leave the field, the midfielder received a tap to the ankle. The guests from Waalwijk then opened the hunt for the equalizer, but the goal fell at the other end in the 76th minute. Beto da Silva, a Peruvian substitute for Paal, saw his effort go in at the near corner, his first PSV goal. Pascal Jansen then made two more changes, Rommens came on for the tired Gudmundsson and Scamacca replaced Bergwijn. RKC Waalwijk thought they could at least score once more in the closing stages, but Van Osch made two excellent saves. For Young PSV the fourth win in a row, which means a place in the left row.
