After the win against Jong AZ, Young PSV also managed to win against Ajax's beloften. At Sportcomplex De Toekomst, Peter Uneken's team won an exciting match 1-2.
Leading
The match began at a fast pace, with both teams keeping up the pressure. A combination between Cheick Touré and Richy Ledezma brought the game forward, but a difficult touch took out the attack. In the next fifteen minutes, the initiative came mainly from the Amsterdam side. From a quick breakaway, Ledezma again came forward and was brought down by the Jong Ajax defense. From the ensuing free kick, captain Justin de Haas coolly shot the ball in for the 0-1. The double came just minutes later. Ajax goalkeeper Dominik Kotarski shot a dropped ball into the feet of Ledezma. The American served Touré who scored his first goal of the season. Just before halftime there was another dangerous shot on goal by Jong Ajax but Maxime Delanghe easily caught the effort. Yet there was another setback. A combination from the Amsterdammers was unstoppable and Jurgen Ekkelenkamp made it 1-2.
Rain of chances
The pace was also high in the second half. Jong Ajax came close to a big chance but a clever intervention by Luis Felipe brought the ball back to the Eindhoven players. Shurandy Sambo and Ismael Saibari both came close but saw their efforts blocked by goalkeeper Kotarski. Damian Timan also had a great chance but pounced on the goalkeeper. Halfway through the first half it was raining chances for Young PSV. Timan came close again when Saibari sent him away. But a clever effort was kept out of the goal via the inside of the post. The last twenty minutes the lead had to be defended with ten men. After a second yellow card, goal scorer De Haas had to leave the field. The home team added to the tension when a header from a corner kick hit the post. The last ten minutes Young PSV had to work hard to stop the Amsterdam attacking line. There was no more goal and the three points went to Eindhoven.
