Young PSV started the season with a special win. In a crazy match it won 5-4 against FC Den Bosch. Sam Lammers was the big man on the side of the pledges. The striker scored four goals. The other goal on behalf of Young PSV was scored by Philippe Rommens.
Early lead
In a goal-rich first half, Young PSV took an early lead at the Jan Louwers Stadium. In the 8th minute Nikolai Laursen saw a fine action stranded on the legs of goalkeeper Kees Heemskerk, who tapped the ball at the feet of Sam Lammers and the striker, who was also in top form for Oranje O19 last summer, effortlessly converted: 1-0. Just before that, the pledges got away with it. Romero Rosales came close to scoring the opening goal on behalf of FC Den Bosch a minute earlier, but he found his obstacle in the crossbar. The attacker dribbled inside, looked for the long corner but saw his ball deflected off the aluminum.
Four-time Lammers
Lammers had significantly less trouble finding the net, as his flawless hat-trick before halftime showed. After his opening goal, he tapped in the 2-0 in the 32nd minute on a pass from Albert Gudmundsson, and seven minutes later the striker crowned a run by Rai Vloet with the 3-0. That was not the end of the cake as far as the first half was concerned. Phillipe Rommens made it 4-0 with a free kick, while Zilja Azizov made it 4-1 on the stroke of halftime. Rommens' goal was preceded by a red card for Jeremy Fernandes. The victory seemed assured, but in a crazy and crazy second half FC Den Bosch came alongside in no time through goals by Ben Santerman, Regales and Bart Biemans. The final chord, however, was for Lammers, who shot Young PSV to victory and third place in the Jupiler League with his fourth goal.
