The stakes in the mini-light city derby are high, especially for city rival FC Eindhoven, which is fighting for direct promotion. Psv U21 had a tough time against the heavyweight from the Keuken Kampioen Divisie. However, substitute Johan Bakayoko completely changed that.
Brilstand
In a well-filled Jan Louwers stadium, the initial phase was for FC Eindhoven, which constantly lurked on the counter. Several times Young PSV got away with a scare, also thanks to goalkeeper Vincent Müller. Young PSV was also close to an opening goal with shots from Mohamed Nassoh and Simon Colyn. At the back, the defense had put things back in order. Whereas in the early stages it had been a tough game, the home team had no more chances. Young PSV, on the other hand, was emphatically looking for a goal and might even have deserved a penalty when Colyn was held in the box, but the referee decided otherwise.
Great raid
Early in the second half, Dante Sealy rushed past his direct opponent before striking hard. The net shook violently, but only because the ball hit the side netting. In a kind of repetition of the first half, FC Eindhoven had been the superior side until then. From that moment Johan Bakayoko, who was substituted in, took over the game completely. With two great distance shots he turned the match completely around. As icing on the cake Jenson Seelt headed the ball into the ropes for the 3-0. FC Eindhoven still managed to score a goal, but for the second time this season Young PSV beat their city rival.
