Young PSV continues to do well in the Jupiler League. After a win over FC Den Bosch and a handsome draw in Leeuwarden against SC Cambuur, it won 1-0 from FC Emmen under the watchful eye of a good number of PSV supporters. Albert Gudmundsson was the celebrated man at De Herdgang.

Jorrit Hendrix sees no goals before halftime
Among others, staff members Ruud Brood, Ruud Hesp, Luc Nilis, technical manager Marcel Brands and midfielder Jorrit Hendrix saw a first half without too many chances. Young PSV held up quite well against FC Emmen, which, like Pascal Jansen's team, scored four points in their first two matches. Only in the closing stages of the first half the team from Drenthe became dangerous. One of them was Josimar Lima, the defender who came up and hit the bar just before half time. Jupiler League top scorer Sam Lammers had been close to scoring just before. However, he saw goalkeeper Dennis Telgenkamp save his effort from his goal.

Gudmundsson scores and excels
After halftime, the goal was found. Quite quickly, in fact. Four minutes after the restart, Albert Gudmundsson put PSV ahead. The Icelandic midfielder remained cool after a pass back from Ramon Pascal Lundqvist when he appeared free in front of Telgenkamp. He put the 1-0 on the scoreboard with a hard shot. Nikolai Laursen and another out-and-out Gudmundsson then had the chance to decide the game ahead of time. The Icelandic midfielder after a dribble, Laursen from close range, but both failed to find the target. At the other end, Hidde Jurjus was important by turning a distance shot by Cas Peters. However, the win was never really in danger.
