At Sportcomplex Zoudenbalch it went pretty evenly in the first part of the first half. The game went back and forth, but neither goalie had to come into action very often. That changed in the22nd minute. The home team took the lead via a dangerous counter via Hilterman. The home team could not enjoy the lead for long, because five minutes later the score was level again. The debutant Frey delivered the ball to Lundqvist, who slotted in easily: 1-1. In the 72nd minute, Verreth shot hard to make it 2-2. The match seemed to end in a draw, but in extra time Venema headed the home team to victory. Thus, Young PSV lost 3-2 in Utrecht.
