Young PSV lost 3-0 to Jong Ajax on Friday night at De Herdgang. The 1683 spectators in attendance saw Room make his first minutes in the PSV shirt and Soulas make his debut in professional football.
Falling behind early
Young PSV had a difficult time in the first half hour. The visitors from Amsterdam came out dangerously a number of times through De Wit and Neres, among others. Room was able to save several times, but after nine minutes of play he had no answer to an unmissable chance by Cassierra: 0-1. After the early goal, Jong Ajax came out of the danger zone several times. The defense of Young PSV had trouble with the speed and actions of outside right Neres. After half an hour, Young PSV got a bit more grip on the game and had some small chances, but Haar's team did not score. Just before half time Neres doubled the score and Jong Ajax made it 2-0. This was also the score at halftime.
Few chances
Also in the second half, Young PSV quickly gave up a goal. Flemming scored ten minutes after halftime from a direct free kick, beating Room: 0-3. Just before that, Carolina had a nice chance to do something back, but his hard shot went over Van Leer's goal. Psv U21 tried in the second half, but couldn't get through. The Amsterdammers also had fewer chances than in the first half. Just before time, Daneels tried his luck from distance with a nice shot. Goalkeeper Van Leer was able to save. Thus Young PSV lost for the first time this season: Jong Ajax was too strong 3-0 on Friday night.
