Psv U21 lost handsomely to NAC in Breda in a goal-rich game. Pascal Jansen's team quickly found itself trailing 3-0. Boljevic and Leemans did something back in the first half. NAC Breda proved to be too big in the second half and ran out, resulting in a 5-2 final score.
Goal-rich first half
With Beto da Silva in the starting lineup, Young PSV quickly became acquainted with the familiar "night at NAC": after only three minutes they were behind by a goal from Seuntjens. Just eight minutes later, Ünal doubled the score with a nick. Young PSV had very little to contribute in the first phase of the first half, mainly just holding back. After just over twenty minutes of play, captain Ars scored NAC's third goal of the evening, making it look like it was going to be a nasty evening for coach Jansen's team. In the 35th minute Boljevic did something back on behalf of Young PSV by curling the ball beautifully into the far corner. Just two minutes later Young PSV got back in the game through a controlled shot in the penalty spot by captain Leemans: 3-2. Shortly after the penalty the team from Eindhoven had several more chances to equalize. These did not materialize, leaving Young PSV with a 3-2 deficit after a first half rich in goals.
Missed chances Young PSV
After halftime, Young PSV came out of the dressing room better and went in search of the equalizer. The first chance was for Young PSV: the dangerous and well playing Boljevic shot the ball just wide of goalkeeper Ten Rouwelaar's goal. A few minutes later it was Beto da Silva who almost equalized. Just when Young PSV was pressing, NAC Breda struck: Seuntjens scored his second goal of the evening and gave NAC Breda a 4-2 lead. After Seuntjens' goal, Pascal Jansen's team was not really in the game and NAC Breda went in search of the fifth goal. Just before time, the fifth goal was scored by an unfortunate own goal by Young PSV. That was all that was left, leaving PSV to lose 5-2 to NAC Breda.
