PSV lost 2-1 to De Graafschap on Friday night at De Vijverberg. Jansen's team mainly created chances in the first half, but failed to finish them off. Just before time Lammers did something back, but it was not enough for a draw.
Young PSV the chances, De Graafschap the goals
At a very atmospheric Vijverberg, Young PSV soon found themselves behind. Club top scorer Parzyszek shot the home team into the lead after eight minutes from eleven meters. Jurjus, who kept for De Graafschap last year, was in the right corner. Around the 20th minute Young PSV got a good chance through Alberto, who shot the ball at goal from a free kick. Keeper Bednarek only just managed to tap the ball past the post. Shortly afterwards Gudmundsson also had the chance to equalize. His lob was caught by the keeper. De Graafschap created few chances, but did score once before half time. A long-distance shot by El Jebli changed direction and flew into Jurjus' goal. So Young PSV created the chances, but the Doetinchemists went to rest with a 2-0 lead.
Different second half
In the second half, Jansen's team had a lot more trouble creating chances thanks in part to the good organization of the home team. Many passes did not arrive, causing combinations to fail. De Graafschap also got few (big) chances. The minutes ticked away with a 2-0 score on the scoreboard. Around the 80th minute Lammers tried from distance, but his shot was blocked. Gudmundsson then had another chance, but his pass to Lammers did not arrive. Five minutes before time, Lammers headed in the 2-1 and did something back. But that was all. Psv U21 loses at De Vijverberg.
