Psv U21 suffered a surprising defeat in Waalwijk. Visiting RKC, things went wrong for coach Dennis Haar's team in the second half. Johan Voskamp managed to grab the win for RKC with a header.
Before halftime lord and master
Young PSV started the match brightly in Waalwijk. Laros Duarte took aim at the enemy goal in the first minute, but his shot went over. Shortly after, the midfielder was again close to scoring the opening goal. This time RKC goalkeeper Etienne Vaessen was in the way. Young PSV kept pressing and after fifteen minutes coach Dennis Haar's team opened the score. Ramon Pascal Lundqvist delivered a fine cross to the incoming Nikolai Laursen, who tapped in the 0-1 from close range. A good ten minutes later Lundqvist should have doubled the score, but his header went just wide. PSV created enough opportunities in the first half to make it 0-2. For example shortly before halftime through Albert Gudmundsson, but the ball ended up in Vaessen's hands.

Young PSV did not start well in the second half. RKC midfielder Serginho Greene had the equalizer on his head shortly after the whistle, but the ball sailed just over the goal. Fifteen minutes later it was striker Johan Voskamp who put the 1-1 on the scoreboard. Psv U21 immediately put things right, as Laursen made his second of the evening one minute later. Six minutes later, RKC equalized again. Goalkeeper Yanick van Osch had no answer to Mohamed Mezghrani's hard shot. Young PSV then gave the game away, as Voskamp also scored his second of the evening. From a cross from the right flank, the striker left Van Osch without a chance: 3-2. Psv U21 tried to push things forward in the closing stages. Bram van Vlerken and Lundqvist came close to scoring a goal. In injury time Marcel Ritzmaier hit the bar, but a point was out of the question.
