Young PSV is slowly but surely threatening to slip down the Jupiler League rankings. The team that finished the first half of the season in fifth place, occupies a shared seventh place after a 2-0 defeat against SC Cambuur on Saturday.

Lightning start SC Cambuur
The five hundred or so spectators had only just found their seats in the main stand at De Herdgang, or Young PSV were already trailing. After 56 seconds, Van de Streek put SC Cambuur ahead by placing the ball behind Jurjus from close range. A goal that seemed to upset Young PSV for a long time. Only in the closing stages of the first half the team seemed to recover and that led almost immediately to great opportunities. Among others through Lammers and Rosario. Both had free passage to the goal shortly before halftime, but twice goalkeeper Zeinstra proved the boss.

Jurjus beaten
It did not inspire Young PSV to start looking for the Frisian goal again immediately after halftime. Indeed, the biggest chance, in the opening phase of the second half, was for Cambuur player Tissoudali. Excellent goalkeeping by Jurjus, however, prevented the 0-2. It turned out to be merely a postponement rather than a reprieve. Twenty minutes before time, Tissoudali beat the goalkeeper with a close-range chip: 0-2. In the freezing cold, Young PSV were unable to come back.
