Pascal Jansen saw Young PSV play 1-1 draw against FC Emmen on his birthday. The coach who turned 44 on Friday saw Pablo Rosario provide the 0-1 in Emmen, but step off the field without a win.
Lammers close
In Emmen on Friday night, Young PSV hoped to put an end to a series of games without a win and the goal drought that has plagued the team since Dec. 2, 2016. But as in the first games of 2017, in an evenly matched first half, Young PSV failed to find the goal. Lammers was the closest to a goal on behalf of the pledges. He found the side netting after 12 minutes. Just before that, goalkeeper Koopmans, who was making his comeback, prevented striker Peters from giving FC Emmen the lead. The goalkeeper was quick off his line and turned Peters' effort with his fingertips.
Rosario scores, red Scamacca
Because Kalon on behalf of FC Emmen and Verreth on behalf of Young PSV then also failed to score in promising positions, both teams rested without goals. In the 58th minute, Rosario changed all that. The occasional captain reacted most attentively to a free kick from Rigo by tapping in the 0-1 at the far post. With that, Young PSV seemed to take the game into their own hands. However, a quick red card for substitute Scamacca turned the game around. The Italian was sent off in the 68th minute for allegedly kicking and Peters took advantage of that almost immediately. In the 70th minute, the striker hit the 1-1 goal from close range. Twenty minutes later that also turned out to be the final score.
