Psv U21 took a point from Maastricht on Friday night at the last minute. Coach Pascal Janssen's team equalized against MVV in the closing stages through Albert Gudmundsson. Suently Alberto scored the other Young PSV goal.
Balance of chances
After thirteen minutes in Limburg, PSV had the first big chance of the match. Paal and Verreth, two newcomers compared to last Monday's game, were allowed to combine freely in the Maastricht penalty area, but were unable to get a shot on target. Striker Piroe, another newcomer, was able to do so after half an hour, but his effort was turned away by Geens. Shortly before half time, N'Koyi found the goal on behalf of the home team. He was overlooked by the Young PSV defense and worked the 1-0 in freedom.
Gudmundsson saves point with 15th goal of the season
Psv U21 by no means slackened from it. In the second half, Jansen's team went in search of the equalizer almost immediately and, after several missed chances, found it shortly before the clock struck the hour. Alberto, who came forward with the ball, put his head against Gudmundsson's free kick, leaving Geers with no chance: 1-1. It did not prove to be a turning point in the match. Indeed, through Ciranni MVV took the lead again. The home side's number 14 left Van Osch completely defenseless with a free kick. However, top scorer Gudmundsson saved his team from defeat by scoring the 2-2 just minutes before time.
