Psv U21 was unable to continue the good results of the past matches on Friday night. In Dordrecht, Pascal Jansen's team lost 4-0 to the local FC. Steven Bergwijn dropped out early on with an ankle injury.
Injury Bergwijn
The match had barely got underway when Young PSV already suffered a major blow. The in-form Bergwijn was tackled far too hard by the Dordt defense and had to be substituted for Beto da Silva after only five minutes. With him in the team, a second setback followed after a relatively calm opening phase. In the 18th minute, striker Janga escaped the attention of the PSV defense and crowned his sprint with the opening goal: 1-0. The answer from the pledges took a long time to come, but it did come before halftime. After a free kick that was turned in, Koch hit the goal with his head, but saw goalkeeper Te Loeke grab the ball and save.
Young PSV forgets to score, Dordrecht runs out in closing stages
The first ten minutes after halftime were much better for Young PSV than the previous 45. The game was more compelling and Jansen's team was very close to an equalizer in that phase through Leemans. The captain shot a free kick just wide of the wrong side of the post. The home team also remained dangerous. Vleugels had a cross from Janga in his sights, but failed when he came face to face with Koopmans. After Beto da Silva threatened the Dordrecht goal twice in quick succession, but failed to equalize, Janga decided the game with his second goal of the evening seven minutes before time. After Bijl's 3-0, Daniels struck the final chord in injury time.
