Psv U21 managed to salvage a point at De Herdgang in the closing stages. Coach Dennis Haar's team was trailing for a long time. In the last minute Sam Lammers headed the deserved equalizer against the ropes.
Superiority
Young PSV started the game with the visitors from Emmen strongly. Within three minutes Cody Gakpo created the first chance after intercepting a weak ball from FC Emmen goalkeeper Dennis Telgenkamp. Gakpo's cross ended up with Donyell Malen, who headed the ball wide in front of an almost empty goal. After just under 20 minutes, Sam Lammers went into individual action. The striker overlooked Gakpo and ran into the FC Emmen defense. On the half hour the team of coach Dennis Haar got off with a scare. FC Emmen striker Cas Peeters had a great opportunity, but from very close range the striker did not get the ball into the goal. Just before half time Malen had a shooting chance. Telgenkamp defused his effort and thus the first half ended 0-0.
Lammers saves point
Young PSV got off to a strong start in the second half. A brilliant attack via the right eventually ended up with Malen. The outside player tried to reach Lammers, but the FC Emmen defense prevented a shooting opportunity. After an hour FC Emmen took a 1-0 lead against the odds through a devastating shot by Anco Jansen. Shortly afterwards FC Emmen seemed to take a 2-0 lead. To his relief Room saw Glenn Bijl's sweeping cross hit the bar. Fifteen minutes before time Young PSV received a free kick on the edge of the penalty area. Marcel Ritzmaier shot at goal, but Telgenkamp saved. A final offensive followed and just before time it was Lammers who scored the deserved equalizer. The striker headed a Ritzmaier cross into the net to make it 1-1.
