Psv U21 won Friday night against RKC Waalwijk. At De Herdgang it became 3-2. Gudmundsson scored twice for Haar's team. The other goal was scored by Ritzmaier. It was the first victory at De Herdgang for Young PSV this season.

Goal-rich opening phase
Young PSV started the game with RKC Waalwijk strongly. Within five minutes they took the lead through Ritzmaier. The Austrian was able to shoot in a nice ball from Gudmundsson at the far post. Just six minutes later the score was again a winner: Gudmundsson was floored in the penalty area and was awarded a penalty, which he then fired in himself. Another six minutes later another goal fell. Bergkamp did something back for the visitors and fired in the 2-1: a goal-rich opening phase at De Herdgang. The Waalwijkers had a clear advantage after the tying goal and had a series of chances. Voskamp's overhead kick hit the bar and Bakari had a chance he couldn't miss. Room saved well, keeping the score 2-1. Just before halftime, Malen and Lammers had chances to make it 3-1. Both shot wide, leaving Young PSV and RKC Waalwijk to rest at 2-1.

Beautiful goal by Gudmundsson
The second half started with a setback for coach Haar's team: RKC Waalwijk was soon awarded a penalty after a hands ball by Malen. Voskamp did not fail and put the visitors level from eleven meters. After just under an hour of play the situation changed again. Gudmundsson rounded goalkeeper Vaessen and shot PSV back into the lead. A clever goal. After the Icelander's goal, the visitors had a slight advantage and went in search of the equalizer. Room had to come into action several times to preserve the lead. Voskamp also headed a great opportunity over. It was mainly a case of holding back in the final stages. That worked, as RKC Waalwijk failed to score again. Just before the end it almost became 4-2: Duarte shot from distance on the crossbar after a fine individual action.
