Young PSV won the Bronze Bull in the Jupiler League on Friday night. The draw against RKC Waalwijk was 1-1. After nine matches, Jansen's promising team - still unbeaten - is at the top of the Jupiler League with 21 points. A great achievement for Jansen's team!
Good start
Young PSV came to Waalwijk with only one goal: to win the first period title. They were not alone. No fewer than 42 supporters had traveled to Waalwijk to support the team, a record. The Herdgang Heroes, as they call themselves, saw Young PSV get off to a good start. After nine minutes it was already close: a shot by Poulsen ended up on the crossbar. Just seven minutes later, goalkeeper Williams cleverly saved a header by Lammers from the goal line. After the good start, RKC took over the initiative and the home team had a few chances. After half an hour Jurjus made a fine save. After his save neither team got any more chances, resulting in a 0-0 halftime score.

After halftime, Young PSV immediately took the initiative. Already after a minute of play Lammers had the chance for the first goal. Keeper Williams made a fine save. In the first phase of the second half, Young PSV was the better team, but did not create any big chances. After 68 minutes of play, top scorer Lammers shot PSV to a 1-0 lead. The striker scored his ninth goal of the season. After the goal, Young PSV was under pressure for a while and Jurjus had to come into action again, making his second save of the night. The score was evenly matched when Van Bruggen was hit with his arm and referee Manschot put the ball on the spot. The chance was taken by Langendijk: 1-1. In the remaining five minutes, however, there was no further danger. The place in the playoffs goes to VVV-Venlo. NAC Breda, which had the best papers, lost 2-1 at FC Volendam.
