With the away match at VVV-Venlo, the two-week break in the Jupiler League comes to an end for Young PSV again on Friday. At 8 p.m., Young PSV will take on the North Limburgers, who are in eighth place.

Long preparation
Head coach Darije Kalezic's squad had plenty of time to prepare for the game due to the international week. Only captain Clint Leemans was missing at the beginning of the week, as he played with the Dutch national team in Sedan against France. Young PSV is currently in sixteenth place in the Jupiler League and played the last two games 1-1. A point was taken on a visit to Telstar, as in the home game against MVV Maastricht. The last win, however, has been seven games ago. On Sunday, Feb. 15, Young PSV won 0-2 at Sparta Rotterdam.

VVV in good shape
VVV-Venlo has been in excellent form in recent weeks. The team of head coach Maurice Steijn has taken eleven points from the last five matches and has not lost. The last time this happened was at Roda JC. The club from Kerkrade was too strong with 2-1. Through that good series, VVV has climbed to eighth place and has the sub-top in its sights. With a win, it is possible that the club will climb to fifth place in the Jupiler League.

Late setback
Earlier this season, the game between Young PSV and VVV-Venlo ended in a 2-2 draw at De Herdgang. After eighteen minutes, Kalezic's team fell behind through a goal by Melvin Platje. After halftime, Young PSV hit back through Farshad Noor and Aleksandar Boljevic: 2-1. The home team looked to be taking the three points, but in the 90th minute VVV struck through substitute Abdelaziz Khalouta. He dealt Young PSV a blow and saved his team from defeat. Leader N.E.C. can become champion of the Jupiler League tonight, as the Nijmegen side - a length ahead of number two FC Eindhoven - play at home against Sparta Rotterdam.
